I practice person-centred experiential therapy, which places the therapeutic relationship at the heart of the healing process. Guided by relational and embodied principles, I see counselling as a collaborative – where connection, insight and change can emerge through presence and dialogue. As a counsellor, my role is to facilitate a space that supports awareness, recognising how unresolved issues show up in the here and now. This approach trusts that you are the expert in your own life and that you have the capacity to find your way forward when offered the right conditions, in which parts of you and your experiences that might have been hidden, denied, or distorted can be brought back and integrated. I bring presence, genuineness, and curiosity to help you explore your experiences, understand yourself more deeply, and discover what feels right for you.
I work with awareness of how culture, language, migration, and multiple identities shape our experiences. I understand what it means to navigate between worlds, to translate oneself, and to not quite fit. I don't assume my worldview is universal, and I'm curious about how your particular contexts - cultural, social, neurological - inform who you are.
I believe trauma isn't just about what happened, but it's about what continues to happen in how we experience safety, connection, and ourselves. Most traumas are relational and require a safe and consistent relational experience to be processed and integrated. We start by building safety in our relationship, we move at your pace, respecting your autonomy and choice. Trauma often makes us disconnected from our bodies, so I pay close attention to your body responses and what you can attend to in any given moment. Ultimately, trauma therapy doesn't require coming back to painful memories nor reliving them, but processing their aftermath, so you can restore your capacity to be present, to feel, and to choose.
I believe that individuals cannot be separated from the broader systemic, cultural, and social contexts we live within. I don't see you as broken or damaged. I see you as someone whose responses made sense in the contexts you've lived through. Therapy isn't just about what's happening "inside" you, but also about understanding how the systems and structures you live in shaped it. I question the idea that we need to "fix" ourselves to fit into harmful systems. Instead, I want to make space to explore how societal expectations, power dynamics, and structural inequalities affect your wellbeing. The aim is to honor the complexity of your experience and resist reducing you to symptoms or diagnoses.
Sessions are 50 minutes and can take place in person in Edinburgh or online. I offer sessions in English and Polish. I currently take clients on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
Most people benefit from weekly sessions, but others prefer a fortnightly rhythm that honors their energy and circumstances. We can discuss what feels right for you during our initial chat.
I work flexibly to meet your needs rather than following a rigid structure. Some sessions might be quiet and reflective; others might be more actively exploratory.
My standard rate is £50 per session. If this is a barrier for you, I offer a limited number of reduced-rate slots (depending on your situation). Please feel free to get in touch to discuss.
I understand that life can be unpredictable, and I'll do my best to accommodate rescheduling when needed. Please let me know as soon as possible if you're unable to attend, so someone else might use the slot. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice will need to be charged at the full rate.
